Prior to Novartis, Yalcin has worked in BMS where was leading US Commercial Analytics covering the CV portfolio. He was acting as a strategic thought partner to cross-functional stakeholders solving key business questions. He has a broad range of pharmaceutical marketing and sales business acumen as well as strong analytical proficiency via academic knowledge and training. He is a seasoned professional with experience in conducting various statistical models in commercial effectiveness to help to determine the optimal (portfolio) budget allocation. He also has experience providing solutions for AI/ML based approaches for Next-Best-Action type of platforms, targeting & segmentation, sales force analytics, forecasting, and market research. Prior to BMS, Yalcin worked at Boehringer Ingelheim (BI) & Pfizer in the pharmaceutical space. He started his career at IMS Health (IQVIA) in healthcare consulting.
Yalcin recently graduated from his Executive Master in Consulting & Coaching for Change at INSEAD. He received his MBA from Temple University and completed his MS in Applied Statistics from Purdue University, Indianapolis. Yalcin also has a BA degree in Mathematics from METU, Turkey. He has experience building statistical models in R and Python, and has worked with linear models, decision trees, cluster analysis, classification methods, data visualization, and other mathematical and statistical methods. Some of his recent work in commercial analytics includes measuring the effectiveness of sales calls using causal inference methodologies, and using clustering models to understand the market in advance of a product launch. In R&D and safety, he has worked on building natural language processing models for identifying adverse events, and using predictive models for risk-based clinical trial monitoring.
